This is how I cooked last night’s tofu:
Drain the tofu and cut it into thin triangles
Lay the triangles on a kitchen towel and place another towel on top of that; let that sit for about 30 minutes
Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat
Coat the tofu triangles with potato starch (I used dry egg replacer)
Place triangles in hot oil- don’t overcrowd that pan or they won’t brown properly
After 5-7 minutes, flip the triangles and brown the other side
Remove triangles from pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil
In a large bowl, toss triangles with spices – I used Jamaican Jerk Seasoning- then coat with bbq sauce
Place coated triangles in a baking pan and broil on hi for 5 minutes, give them a stir and broil for another 5 minutes
Remove from broiler and taa-daaa! You have awesome tofu!!
